Know Your Account Details
1. Your BMCC account details will automatically be created based off of your CUNYfirst account. This means you must have a CUNYfirst account before your BMCC accounts are created. You must also wait at least 48 hours after you enrolled in classes for the accounts to be created. Your student account details would be as follows:

2. Your CUNY Login account is used for CUNY related services including Brightspace and Blackboard. **NOTE: OpenLab and Upswing now also requires the CUNY Login credentials.
3. Your User Name is used to sign into campus devices and BMCC-SECURED Wi-Fi. Students with long names may have to use their BMCC Portal account instead. For more information about campus Wi-Fi, click here: https://servicedesk.bmcc.cuny.edu/TDClient/33/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=1040
4. Your BMCC Portal account is used for BMCC resources and applications such as BMCC Portal's Website, Zoom, Residency Forms, Change Major Forms, laptop loans and more.
5. Your BMCC Student Email is your Microsoft Outlook school email where you would receive notifications from BMCC or CUNY, contact your professors, and receive the activation code for your Virtual ID.

Claiming Your BMCC Accounts
1. After your accounts have been created, the next step is to claim the accounts. To claim your BMCC Student Email and your BMCC Portal accounts, you will need to reset their password. To reset your password go to: https://login.bmcc.cuny.edu.

2. Then click on the link for Login Assistance Workflow.

3. Type in your User Name and click on Submit.

4.For the "Login Identity Providers" select: I login using BMCC.

5. Please select the option which best describes your current challenge: I'm unable to remember my password or I've gotten locked out. Click on Next.

6. An OTP (One Time Password) code will be sent to your CUNYfirst profile's preferred email address. Check that email address for a code from login@bmcc.cuny.edu.

7. Please make sure that the preferred email on your CUNYfirst is set to a personal email that you have access to. You can set your preferred email address in the CUNYfirst Student Center > Profile > Contact Details.

8. After receiving the code, click on Yes. Then validate the OTP. If you are not receiving the verification email, please contact or visit BMCC's IT Service Desk.


9. You may now create your new password to claim your BMCC Accounts. This requires a strong connection to the Internet.
