Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Overview

IT has enforced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), a feature designed to provide an additional layer of security while accessing your BMCC email (Microsoft 365) & RingCentral phone system via mobile app.

MFA can be set up by using one of the three options:

  1. SMS Text message to your cellphone.
  2. Automated phone call (cellphone preferred).
  3. Microsoft Authenticator mobile App on your cellphone or on a tablet (with Internet access).

Setting up MFA

For your MFA’s initial setup, you must sign in to your BMCC email via a web browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.

Options to access your BMCC email

If you access your BMCC email through a web browser, you’ll always be prompted to authenticate your access using the MFA method you’ve chosen from any of the above 3 options. If you access your email using the Microsoft Outlook app on your device, you’ll only need to authenticate using MFA once.

For seamless access to your email account on your devices, we strongly recommend installing and using the Microsoft Outlook app.
