TAP URL Isolation – End-User Guide

What is TAP URL Isolation?

TAP URL Isolation, part of Proofpoint’s Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), helps protect users from phishing and malware by opening suspicious links in a secure, isolated browser environment instead of blocking them.

How It Works

  • Click a URL in an email → TAP checks for phishing threats.

  • If suspicious, it opens in the TAP Isolation Browser.
  • A scan runs (up to 5 minutes) while you interact with the site.

  • If the system detects malicious content on the page, you will be presented with a page like this

  • Once the scan is done, click "Exit" to open the site in your regular browse.
