1. Go to the CUNYFirst login page (https://home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu/) and click on “New User” below the login fields.
2. Enter your personal information in the fields. All fields are required. Make sure that the date of birth is entered in the format MM-DD-YYYY with the dashes (example: January 1st, 2001 would be entered as 01-01-2001).
Then complete the captcha and click “Continue”.
3. Your current account management email will be displayed. If you have access to this email account and it is the account that you want to use as your account management email, leave the “New Email Address” and “Confirm New Email Address” fields blank, then click “Continue”. If you want to use a different email address as your account management email, enter the new email address in both fields, then click “Continue”.
4. An email will be sent to the account management email. Click on the link in the email that you received.
5. Enter a new password in both fields then click “Continue”. The password criteria are as follows:
- Must be between 8 and 13 characters long
- Must contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
- Must contain at least one number
6. Enter your phone number in the “Phone Number” and “Confirm Phone Number” fields then click “Continue”. Enter only numeric characters in these fields. If the number is a non-US phone service also enter the country code in the “Country Code” and “Confirm Country Code” fields. For US phone services leave these fields blank.
7. Select and answer five security questions, then click “Continue”. Each question selected must be unique, and all five questions must be answered. Answers are not case sensitive.
8. Your CUNYFirst username and EMPLID will be displayed and your account will be activated. A confirmation email will also be sent to your account management email.
