How to Change Your Default Multi-Factor Authentication Method - Students

You should have the ability to seamlessly use your existing mobile phone or tablet while traveling abroad, to authenticate with the Microsoft Authenticator app, ensuring uninterrupted access.

Here are the steps to confirm your default authentication method as the Microsoft Authenticator app before your international trip:

1. Visit https://myaccount.microsoft.com/

2. Sign in using your BMCC email and password.

3. You may be asked to complete the Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for portal access.

4. In the "Security Info" section, next to "Default sign-in method" choose "Change."

5. Your default sign-in method will be prominently displayed at the top of the screen, allowing you to verify it.

While abroad you can access your BMCC email and authenticate by accessing a one-time passcode in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
